Airport Rail Link

BTS Skytrain consists of two lines with interchange at Siam Station: Sukhumvit Line and Silom Line. Sala Daeng, Asok, and Mo Chit stations are interchanges with the underground MRT.

MRT (Metropolitan Rapid Transit) consists of the following underground lines:
. MRT Blue Line (Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line)
. MRT Purple Line (Chalong Ratchadham Line)
Extensions of all lines are planned. The MRT Blue Line extension from Hua Lamphong to Tha Phra will officially launch on Mother’s Day 2019 (Aug 12) with test-runs starting on July 22, as Bangkok Post reports. Sanam Chai station is close to Siam Museum, Wat Pho and The Grand Place on Rattanakosin island, read about its splendid design. The expansion from Tha Phra to Lak Song in Phutthamonthon Sai 4 — the last station of the extension line — is scheduled to open a month later in September. There will be eleven stations, including four underground - Wat Mangkon, Sam Yot (both in Chinatown), Sanam Chai and Itsaraphap - before the line surfaces at Tha Phra and runs over ground west to Bang Phai, Bang Wa, Phet Kasem 48, Phasi Charoen, Bang Khae and Lak Song.

Longdistance buses to other cities:

Mo Chit Bus Terminal, also known as the Northern Bus Terminal or Chatuchak Terminal, is the biggest bus station in Bangkok for connections to the Northern, Central, Eastern and North-Eastern provinces of the city as well as to neighbouring countries. The station is a few minutes away from Mo Chit BTS Skytrain Station.

Ekamai Eastern Bus Terminal: Buses for the east coast, including Pattaya and Rayong, depart from Ekamai bus station which is conveniently located adjacent to the Ekamai Skytrain stop. There are also some buses which run from Mo Chit to Pattaya and the east coast, but most services run out of Ekamai.

Southern Bus Terminal – Sai Tai Taling Chan: Buses for southern Thailand, including Ko Samui, Phuket and Krabi, and also buses for Kanchanaburi depart from the Southern Bus Terminal. See timetable. If you don't know how to handle Bangkoks buses you take a taxi to get there.

Public Transportation Centre at Suvarnabhumi airport: Buses run from here into most areas of Bangkok including the main bus terminals. There are also some direct services to some locations, for example Pattaya and Nong Khai. To get to the transportation centre, take the free shuttle bus from the main airport terminal building. See Bus routes from Suvarnabhumi Arport.
